Coronavirus Safety Guidance for 2021 season
Recommendations and restrictions are fluid and subject to change. Safety must be our top priority. This page will be kept updated with the most current information we have available.
UPDATED 6/29/2021: As we begin the regular season for 2021, we want to update the Covid information and guidance. We are very thankful for all of our coaches and families that helped us navigate through a very unusual and unprecedented 2020 season and partnered with us to give our teams an opportunity at something positive in a year that saw many unknowns. Gratefully, we are now able to move back to a more normal atmosphere for our coaches, riders, and families for the new year.
With changes to Covid restrictions across the state, we have continued our conversations with the Department of Health and the CDC to make sure we are keeping our participants safe. There are currently no mask mandates in Georgia, and based on the increased knowledge from the scientific community, there is no need for wearing a mask outside as there is very little risk of any increase in the spread of a virus. Teams may also work in groups and move coaches between groups of riders as needed to accommodate your team culture with regard to risk management.
As in any circumstance of illnesses, if you ever are not feeling well or are symptomatic, please protect your team and stay home.
Each of us must assess the risk tolerance that we can accept in any situation, especially in the current climate. Georgia Cycling Association cannot give one hundred percent assurance that no one will get sick or injured during our programs and events. We will always provide training and event production that reasonably minimizes risks within the context of our Georgia Cycling events, but we always ask our coaches and parents to evaluate and do what is in the best interest for your family.
