USA Cycling Junior Memberships for Georgia Cycling Riders

The Georgia Cycling Association and USA Cycling have announced a new three-year sponsorship agreement. The agreement, effective with the 2021 season, is focused on providing youth across Georgia with access to the life-long sport of cycling. In addition to annual funding support for Georgia Cycling, the benefits of this partnership will be directly felt by Georgia Cycling student-athletes through:

  • Free USA Cycling Junior memberships, and $40 off a Family membership, for Georgia Cycling Student-Athletes to reduce barriers and encourage participation at more local events.

  • Recognition of Georgia Cycling event results in the USAC ranking system for USAC Members. This will facilitate Regional and National Championship call-ups and optimize the opportunity for riders to compete in a variety of events.

Student-athletes can activate benefits starting June 1, 2021, provided they have completed the registration process for the 2021 Georgia Cycling season. Students must meet their practice attendance requirements in order to maintain USAC benefits.

“Our shared perspective is supporting and expanding youth cycling. This partnership with USA Cycling now extends the ability to support riders beyond their graduation from Georgia Cycling. We are excited that our student-athletes will now have support from USA Cycling to connect with cycling experiences beyond high school,” said Kenny Griffin, Executive Director of the Georgia Cycling Association.

“USA Cycling working with the Georgia Cycling Association to champion getting more kids on bikes and into the sport is a positive move for everyone involved,” said Chuck Hodge, Chief of Racing & Events. “By working together, we can introduce the next generation to bikes and the cycling community as a whole, building a future for the sport that’s more inclusive and accessible.”
