Skills are the fundamental basis of mountain biking. The Georgia Cycling Association works to provide every opportunity for student-athletes to learn and practice these skills. The Skills Zone at Georgia Cycling Races creates the chance for students to practice and apply the mountain bike skills learned at practices with their local Georgia Cycling team. The zone consists of two sections: the Skills Challenge (competitive) and the Pump Track (non-competitive).
SKILLS CHALLENGE
Take your best shot at showing your bike skills by tackling the Skills Challenge at a Georgia Cycling Race. Riders can try it as many times as they would like to post their best time.
Prizes will be awarded to the fastest Middle School Male/Female and the fastest High School Male/Female.
pump track
The Pump Track at Georgia Cycling Races is an opportunity for student-athletes to practice skills such as bike body separation, cornering, steering, and more in a controlled environment. The Pump Track is not a timed event. Children do not have to be registered riders with a Georgia Cycling team to ride the Pump Track. Any child capable of riding a bike is welcome to participate after a parent signs a participation liability waiver.
